DEIST INDUSTRIES MAKES CUSTOMERS AWARE OF POTENTIAL TAX BENEFITS SET TO EXPIRE ON DECEMBER 31, 2008!Deist Industries recently began making its distributors and dealers aware of an often overlooked component of the IRS Tax Code that was written into law as part of The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008. Known as Section 179 and set to expire on December 31, this law allows “S” corporations to write off/depreciate the full purchase price of equipment purchases (up to $250,000) during 2008, providing opportunities for significant tax savings.
As one example, investing $25,000 in equipment (including used equipment or demo vehicles) could save a company $8,750 in Federal taxes alone. By increasing the investment, the company can achieve significantly larger savings.
While Deist strongly encourages its customers to seek professional tax advice before making decisions based on Section 179, the company can ship most Switch-N-Go and AmeriDeck products prior to year-end. Deist has also established relationships with banks and other lenders to provide an array of financing options.
| 10/27/2008 | Switch-N-Go™ and AmeriDeck™ Featured at Four GIE-Expo Locations | |
NEWS RELEASE
For release: October 27, 2008
Switch-N-Go™ and AmeriDeck™ Featured at Four GIE-Expo Locations
HADLEY, PENNSYLVANIA — Deist Industries’ Switch-N-Go™ and AmeriDeck™ product lines received substantial exposure last week at the national Green Industry & Equipment (GIE)+Expo trade event, held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville from October 23-25. Throughout the trade show, the company was featured at four separate booth locations.
In addition to significant exposure at the primary Deist booth—which included regular Switch-N-Go™ and AmeriDeck™ demonstrations throughout the show—both product lines were also featured and demonstrated in the show’s outdoor pavilion area. “Our traffic surpassed projections, but more importantly, those who visited our booths were eager to learn more about the productivity, cost-savings, and safety benefits that our systems provide,” stated Deist General Manager Matt Wilson.”
The prominent Dodge booth provided additional exposure and demonstration opportunities for Switch-N-Go™. Throughout the show, members of the Deist sales team (often accompanied by company president Dale Deist) demonstrated the Switch-N-Go™ system, which included a medium-duty drop box mounted on a Dodge 5500 chassis.
The show also marked the company’s announcement that Deist Industries will become an associate sponsor of an entry in the nationally-televised 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The team, Herd Racing, plans to compete next season with driver Brett Rowe piloting the #75 Ford F-150 race truck. Deist executives joined Herd’s president and driver at GIE Expo media conference at the show on October 24. A prototype truck design, which featured the Switch-N-Go, AmeriDeck, and Buck’s Fabricating logos, was also unveiled at the show, and a specially designed F-150 truck was on display in a standalone booth. Rowe signed autographs and visited with customers and fans throughout the day.
Company president Dale Deist was among the first to acknowledge Rowe’s “fit” for his company. “Brett grew up on a farm in West Virginia, and his family operates a manufacturing business that serves customers throughout the U.S. He brings a solid work ethic to our partnership, and his professionalism at our booth last week was obvious. He and his wife, Shelley, were a hit with our customers and our sales team! It is also exciting that the NASCAR audience includes business owners and serious truck enthusiasts who view their vehicles as workhorses!”
According to Herd president Dana Tomes, the team shares this excitement about promoting Deist’s product lines, while also building relationships with many of the company’s distributors and dealers. “While we continue to seek additional sponsorship for the #75, having Deist on board will allow us to offer programs that will provide significant customer traffic to its dealers. We share Deist’s belief that the work truck industry will benefit from programs that provide new levels of product and brand exposure, and we look forward to partnering with many of their distributors.”
Headquartered in Hadley, Pennsylvania, Deist Industries, Inc. manufactures the Switch-N-Go™ detachable truck body system for medium duty work trucks, the AmeriDeck™ hydraulic loading system for pick-up trucks, and Buck’s Fabricating™ roll-off containers. Deist Industries Announces Sponsorship of 2009 NASCAR Truck Series Team
HADLEY, PENNSYLVANIA — Deist Industries, Inc., the Pennsylvania manufacturer of the Switch-N-Go™ detachable truck body system, the AmeriDeck™ hydraulic loading system for pick-up trucks, and Buck’s™ Fabricating roll-off containers, has announced its associate sponsorship of Herd Racing’s #75 Ford F-150 truck, which plans to compete in the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (currently known as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series). Deist executives, the president of Herd Racing, and the team’s driver appeared at a press conference in conjunction with the Green Industry and Equipment (GIE) Expo at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville on Friday, October 24 to make the announcement.
The truck series, which is renowned for competitive racing, is of particular interest to Deist, given its products’ applications for medium and full-size pick-up trucks. “Everything we do is about making your truck the hardest working machine that you own! Our unique, interchangeable truck body system (Switch-N-Go™) and progressive loading system (AmeriDeck™) appeal to professional truck owners and enthusiasts who need productivity, efficiency, and safety. In today’s economy, business owners need cost-savings, and this is what we deliver,” states Dale Deist, the company’s president.
Matt Wilson, the company’s General Manager, is excited about building the company’s brands through a NASCAR race team. “This partnership with Herd Racing will allow our Switch-N-Go™, AmeriDeck™, and Buck’s™ product lines to reach serious truck and business owners who need their trucks to be workhorses. In a challenging economic climate, our dealers and distributors will also appreciate the opportunity to take advantage of a new marketing platform. We’re excited about being a part of NASCAR, and look forward to the season.”
Another factor supporting the announcement was compatibility. “Herd Racing is an organization whose values perfectly complement those of Deist Industries,” states Jeff Parnell, the company’s Vice President – Sales & Marketing. “We are impressed with their passion, their integrity, and their commitment to build a team that will perform well both on and off the track. Their driver, Brett Rowe, loves to compete, and will represent our made-in-America products in a first-class manner.”
Team owner Dana Tomes shares the team’s enthusiasm about the Deist sponsorship. “For years, I’ve used Buck’s™ roll-off containers in some of my businesses, so this is a natural fit. When I began to learn more about Switch-N-Go™ and AmeriDeck™, I saw a natural tie-in between these products and race fans. While we are continuing our search for sponsorship, I am personally excited about bringing their message into new markets. Herd Racing looks forward to a great year for the #75 Ford F-150!”
Driver Brett Rowe echoes Tomes’ perspective. “My family owns a factory in West Virginia, so I appreciate the hard-working values that that the Deist family brings to our team. Their truck body systems are great productivity tools for this economy, and our fans will enjoy learning more about their capabilities. I am proud to showcase the hard work this company puts into every product.”

| 10/9/2006 | AmeriDeck™ achieves NTEA MVP Status | |
AmeriDeck™ & Switch-N-Go™ (Deist Industries, Inc.) have achieved NTEA MVP status, further showing our commitment to providing a quality product to our distributors and end-users. Below is the NTEA press release from October 9, 2006.
The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) has announced that an additional 26 Distributor and Manufacturer members have achieved Member Verification Program (MVP) status as of Oct. 1, the third quarter of 2006, ending Sept. 30, 2006.
Since May 2005 when the program was initiated, 271 companies have qualified for MVP status. The program recognizes members that have implemented minimum business processes and have taken steps to comply with certain government regulations. “We welcome these members that have demonstrated compliance with key strategic objectives for building better partnerships between distributors and manufacturers, and between suppliers and their customers,” said NTEA Executive Director Jim Carney.
Applications for verification status are accepted throughout the year. Those qualifying for MVP designation are announced on a quarterly basis. To qualify, NTEA Distributor and Manufacturer members must meet criteria that are key to providing quality products and vehicles. For example, vehicle up fitters must provide proof that they are attempting to comply with specific regulatory requirements necessary for the manufacture of trucks. They also must demonstrate that they have adequate liability insurance coverage, a quality program and ASE-certified mechanics or certified welders.
Body and equipment manufacturers have similar requirements for insurance coverage, quality programs and certified employees. They also must verify that they provide installation instructions for their products and have a warranty policy to address product defects. In total, all verified members must provide proof that they meet four of five criteria.
To make the program increasingly more meaningful to the industry, the NTEA has stated it will add new criteria or modify criteria over time. The first modification to the program took effect July 1, 2006, with insurance becoming a requirement for distributors and manufacturers applying to the Program.
